I was at the Red Cross Pasig Chapter Training office today to register for the June 9, 2008 BLS and First Aid Courses. Fortunately, I got a slot for myself. In the afternoon, one of my friends almost wasn't able to get herself listed for the same scheduled course. Instead, a new schedule was being offered her. In the end, she still got the slot but I am assuming that tomorrow, everybody else will have to attend the training set for June 23.
So there, for those of you who wish to attend the BLS and First Aid courses for both first timers and those who will renew their BLS certification, there is another schedule on June 23 to 27, 2008. Not only that, the good news is that instead of having it only once a month, the chapter is now going to have 2 schedules per month. Yup, you heard it hear first. Pasig Red Cross is holding their courses twice a month - on the 2nd and last weeks of each month starting June 2008. The enrolment for the said trainings should be at least 1 week before schedule.
The requirements for attending the trainings are:
1. a medical certificate - you should get the form from Red Cross as they will not honor any other certificate. Have your physician certify that you are indeed in good shape to attend the courses.
2. Payment of Fees:
For BLS and First Aid - P1,100.00
For First Aid only - Php 800.00
For renewal of BLS - Php 100.00
*** note: BLS has to be renewed 1 month before its expiration date. It can only be renewed once. A retraining is needed biennially. First Aid certifications cannot be renewed. A retraining is needed every year.
I would urge the nurses to take the BLS from Red Cross because some hospitals specify it.
Till next post,
Jane
