Apple Cider Elixir

I'm so into raw food and natural medicine.  It's just that I have come to make pharmaceutical preparations a last option because I know what it does to my body.  One of my home remedy is that of apple cider vinegar, honey and garlic.  However, it is so tedious to do that when I'm in a hurry I more often than not skip this whole thing.  Here's a better way to prepare it and have it for a month.

Apple Cider Elixir
1 cup apple cider vinegar
1 cup raw honey
8 cloves garlic
Mix all  on low speed (the lowest that you can use). Keep in a glass or non-toxic plastic container . Seal and leave in the refrigerator for five days. Normal dosage is a tbsp. in a glass of water or fruit juice, grape or orange juice three times daily. Always keep your solution away from sunlight.  It can be kept in the refrigerator for about a month.  After that, discard and make another batch.
I would like to try it with my slow juicer.  I and my family attest to its efficacy and we drink it at the onset of a cold or flu.  It would be good to have it everyday though.
Oh, the apple cider vinegar has to be raw.  One such is Bragg but I couldn't find it in the grocery lately.  So, I'm going to make my own instead.  Would love to try making some with my water kefir.  Currently, we use the other brands.  Any suggestions?

Fighting With That Toilet Seat Again?

Ooooohhhh... that should hurt.

Take your fiber, drink lots of water and move around. Take your fiber, drink lots of water and move around. Take your fiber, drink lots of water and move around. Hah! It would sound more like a chant but that's what we normally advice our clients at the hospital to help with their uh... uhmmmm... er... constipation.

Yes, such an absurd topic but really one that is equally disturbing as having a bank collection officer go after you and deliriously painful as a woman giving birth to her first baby. The trouble with constipation is it gets you feeling so bloated the whole time that it makes you sluggish and sometimes cranky. Your guts absorb more water from your stools and along with it reabsorbs the toxins which your body has eliminated. It would be like drinking some poison only it passes a different route. When you try to let the "thing" out forcefully, it gets you into more trouble. Then comes the battle with that single witness - the toilet seat. A more painful trauma could happen - hemorrhoids. The worst part for those who have heart diseases, it could cause a heart attack!

So what should you do? come on now say it with me: Take your fiber, drink lots of water and move around.

Ok, so what's the fiber thing? Well, it's any fruit or vegetable that or any food for that matter that has ruffage. My husband used to joke about having to eat some slippers from the bicol region - they're made from the fibers of the Abaca plant. Fiber adds bulk to your stool and makes it easier to pass. But you've got to drink lot of water to not make it hard too.

As for water, remember that the gut or the large intestine actually reabsorbs water from the stools. Thus, when there's very little water present in there, there's not much liquid left in the feces making it rock hard. That's difficult to pass.

Other techniques to make your defecation easier are getting enough exercise, drinking some lactobacillus drink or yogurt (which contains bacteria that is good for the digestion), prune juice, pineapple juice and, for me at least, taking some virgin coconut oil. When all else fails, trot to your physician so he can prescribe some stool softeners for you.

Well, I hope that helps in your daily "battle".

A Good Day, Bad Sunburn

I've been in mild pain because of this sunburn I got. We were in Anawangin, Zambales with my husband's sister and her family. The place was really nice but the memory of its beauty is upstaged by a painful sunburn which I got there. The sad thing is that I didn't want to get it but did because of a miscalculation.

I am very aware of the risk this burn poses. So, over and above the treatment for its long term effect, I sought to relieve the discomfort it has caused on me.

The worst burn is on on my face that I am really red all over. If you've seen a pork jerky, I imagine that's how I look like. Anyway, I have so far used a cold compress and some milk with oatmeal. These really soothed my face and shoulders nicely. Next, thing I have to do is to reduce the effect of the burn on how I look so I've got to use some lightening soap to make it gradual. So far, I'm trying the Licorice soap of GIGA and the olay total effects. To avoid dehydration, I've made a homemade oral rehydration solution of water with salt and sugar.

To reduce the risk of developing cancer, I'm taking WAIORA's Natural Cellular Defense which should greatly prevent the disease.

So far, these have been working pretty well on me. As for the cancer, well, it's God's call not mine so I'll leave that part to Him.
